Comer believes that Warhol’s famous 1968 statement – “In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes” – showed an intuitive understanding not just of our appetite for stars, but of the way the media would become more pervasive. “He understood that the Hollywood studio system was giving way to something where far more people were going to be on camera and on screen. Now, on CCTV cameras, we’re all filmed and photographed thousands of times a day. Warhol realised that we were becoming more than bodies – we were becoming images. The way that we all became part of the media machine is something that he understood very early.”

CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION DOLL

Have you ever dreamed of owning your own anatomically correct birthing mama and baby doll, with detachable placenta and umbilical cord? Ya… neither have I. But apparently midwives have…

These award winning (and sinister-looking) dolls are advertised by Etsy user CozyColeman as “a great addition to any midwifery practice, or for any birth professional that works with siblings.” What? I am not convinced.  Maybe it is because all I see are two gargantuan nipples and a horrific, grizzly patch of black pubic hair. I guess these dolls are creative and all, but on an educational level, I am pretty sure they’re just going to put kids off childbirth for life. I certainly am over it.

This doll received both “Most Creative” at the 2006 Foster Old Home Days fair, Foster, RI and “Best in Show” at the 2006 Woodstock Fair, Woodstock, CT. I often worry about this world.

hahaha what kids are they trying to teach this too
